Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center is located in Johnsonburg, NJ and offers a number of programs for a wide variety of clients.  For years, the camp has experienced extensive flooding issues, which has caused injuries to campers, destroyed gravel roads, and deemed parts of buildings unusable.  Representatives from the camp reached out to TCNJ and connected with this team in order to solve these issues.

As part of The College of New Jersey's senior project program, this team will be redesigning and implementing a new storm water drainage plan for Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center.  The team will focus on the areas highlighted above (Lower Meadow, Cedar Meadow, and Recreation Center), as well as the roads that are damaged throughout the camp.

The goal is to design innovative and sustainable solutions to fix these drainage issues and make the entire camp more functional year-round.  The team will produce real engineering drawings in May 2020 for the camp to use and will focus on maximizing public safety and minimizing the budget in their solutions.  The team will use knowledge learned while pursuing their Civil Engineering degree from TCNJ.
